Podcast and spoken word
Broadcast mics, quiet acoustics and an engineer watching levels — for interviews, narration and episodic shows without home-room noise.

Podcast and spoken word focuses on speech, not singing: two-host podcasts, solo voice-over, corporate narration and short fiction series. At Haarlemmerweg 84 you choose a table setup with boom arms or a stand-up layout with script in hand.
Book hourly with engineer or a four-hour block including basic edit (trim silences, level balance, no full sound design). Longer productions are scheduled case by case; music and vocals are tracked via vocal sessions or live room separately.
How it works
- 1
Format
Describe speaker count, episode length and platform (RSS, internal, video). We send a checklist on room tone and script length.
- 2
Layout
Microphones per voice, pop filters, headphones for monitoring. Table or stand-up; quiet set for video podcasts on request.
- 3
Recording
Multiple takes or long form, with marks for mistakes. Engineer watches clipping and sibilance.
- 4
Edit and export
On block rate: basic edit and export per stem plus stereo mixdown. 24-bit WAV; 18-month backup.
Setups for different formats
Two hosts at a table is our default podcast layout: separate mics, shared monitor mix so you hear each other naturally. Solo voice-over often uses a stand-up position with tablet or paper script; the engineer follows for timing.
For three or four speakers we rotate seating in the 48 m² live room when the table is tight — still with sight lines. More than four voices in one session is quoted separately because monitoring gets complex.
Sound and space
The studio has 3 rooms; spoken work usually uses the control-room podcast corner or the live room with curtains closed. No kitchen-tile echo or chair squeak — why teams from Amsterdam West record here.
We check room tone before rolling and set gain so later mixing or mastering does not have to hide noise. External sfx or jingles you record elsewhere or supply as WAV.
Basic edit vs full production
Block rate €475 covers four hours recording plus basic edit: trim long silences, tame obvious plosives, consistent loudness per stem, no music beds. Net: €392.56. Hourly €128 (net €105.79) without edit — useful when your editor works remotely.
Full podcast production (intro music, sfx, Spotify chapter marks) sits outside this package; we can suggest freelancers without promising availability. Billing questions appear on FAQ.
Who books this service
Marketing teams for internal CEO shows, indie creators with a season format, doc makers batching voice-over, authors reading audiobook chapters — the use cases vary. Minimum speaker age 16 unless you represent a school with supervision.
Business clients get 21 days payment terms after approval; consumers pay a 35% deposit as in terms and conditions.
Prep and scripts
Send scripts at least 24 hours ahead if you want the engineer to pre-read difficult names. Mark pages for retakes. Drink water on breaks; we have tea and coffee, not catering.
For video sync note timecode or slates; we deliver WAV without picture. Stem care overlaps with warm-up before vocal sessions — relevant for long read days too.
Formats and rights
Default export: mono or stereo WAV per speaker, plus stereo mixdown for preview. 44.1 kHz on request for broadcast; default 48 kHz. No automatic upload to hosting — you remain the distributor.
You keep rights to your script; Meresmensignal B.V. processes audio under privacy policy. Raw sessions are not shared with third parties without written instruction. Site cookies: .

FAQ
How many episodes fit one block?
Depends on length and retakes. One 30-minute two-host interview often fits; four short voice-over spots too. We estimate upfront via contact.
Can remote guests call in?
Yes on a separate line recorded as an extra track; quality depends on their internet. No guarantee of studio quality on their end.
Do you deliver MP3 for Spotify?
We export WAV; you or your host makes MP3/M4A. We can measure loudness so you sit under common -16 LUFS stereo targets.
Is video recording possible?
Audio is our focus; a silent camera on a tripod is fine by agreement if it does not disturb the take. No lighting or video crew from us.
What if we run past four hours?
Extra time bills at €128 per hour. Edit beyond the block package is outside basic edit and is agreed separately.
